Without finishing their high school education, young mothers can face significant barriers to income and employment. A $2,000 grant from District 13 Hamilton-Wentworth Haldimand is helping one Hamilton group to fill that education gap.
Good Shepherd’s Jeanne Scott Parent & Child Resource Centre offers moms aged 21 and under the chance to complete their high school education, while their children are cared for on site, free of charge. The RTOERO grant will cover the expenses of learning resource materials, educational toys, and supplies for activities for the children.
The Jeanne Scott Parent & Child Resource Centre Program is run in partnership with the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board. The centre targets root issues of poverty, homelessness, trauma and mental health.
